Learn How To Distribute A Self Published Book

by admin on

Having written an article on book distribution-click here to read – one avenue that happens to take the most time is signing with a distributor.  This will always remain the hardest way to crack open an area in the bookstores – major bookstores.  For some time now, this way of distribution has been the most difficult since the increased wave of writers self publishing and desiring to retain their own rights along with the majority of their money.

This isn’t greed, but only fair as the author put the most time and energy in their book whether it be fiction, nonfiction or how-to.  It took work, and many authors want the retain as much of the money as possible for their diligence.  Now there is always the option of selling rights to a major publisher. From that point they take care of everything for you by simply paying you off, but if you want between 60 to 100 percent of your money coming back to you as the author, find out how to maximize your distribution results.

To the right on the sidebar is a short list of the many distributors there are available to a self published author, but remember that this is only one way to distribute your book.  There are lots more ways, but this is just the way through the bigger companies, or basically a third party.
